Description
Each DSCL22 loop powered isolator provides 1, 2, or 3 channels of analog signal protection by electrically isolating its input from output for any DC process signal in the range of 0-20mA (or 4-20mA). The DSCL22 operates passively, obtaining its power from the transmitted signal.
The input signal is chopped by a proprietary DC chopper circuit, isolation is provided by transformer coupling, a proprietary technique is used to suppress transmission of common mode spikes or surges, and the output signal from the secondary of the transformer is reconstructed to the original input signal.
If one input to two isolated outputs is desired, multiple channel units may be configured as a splitter (see Figure 2).
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Dataforth provide calibration reports for modules I purchased?
Yes we can provide calibration reports for the modules that you purchased.
You can either
a) visit https://www.dataforth.com/TestDataReport.aspx to search for Test Report Datasheets by Serial Number or
b) you can send us a list of model numbers and their serial numbers to support@dataforth.com
Does Dataforth have a 4-channel 4-20mA isolator?
No. However, Dataforth does have two and three-channel 4-20mA isolators as shown in the following table.
Model Description
DSCL22-11 2-channel 4-20mA isolator
DSCL22-21 3-channel 4-20mA isolator
DSCL23-02 2-channel 4-20mA Isolator with DC Supply for 2-wire transmitter
DSCL24-11 2-channel 4-20mA isolator
Keywords/Phrases: 4-20mA isolator, 4-channel 4-20mA isolator, 4-channel 4-20mA DIN mount isolator
Does Dataforth have an isolator with one input featuring two or more outputs?
No, but this function can be implemented with a two or three channel loop isolator, such as DSCL22-11, DSCL22-21, DSCL24-11, or DSLC24-12. Connect all inputs in series with each other. Sum together all input burden voltages so as not to exceed the maximum loop voltage available.
Keywords/Phrases: DSCL, DSCL one input multi-output loop isolator, one input multi-output loop isolator
How does the load resistance of a module affect the noise at the output?
Noise at the output of a module is independent of load resistance.
Due to resource constraints on my computer, I'm unable to open the three dimensional CAD models provided on your website. Does Dataforth provide two demensional CAD models for download as well?
Two dimensional CAD models can be generated upon customer request. Please contact Customer Service for assistance.
