Plug-in-the-panel and DIN mount packages are the most popular choices. Because DIN rails are so popular, many panel mount 'back panels' (those with four or more legs) are now available with DIN rail mounting options as well. So, whether panel or DIN I/O modules, your choice often comes down to selecting wiring connections rather than mounting. ...Your best vendors will have many, many options available. Products that mount on a panel or snap onto a DIN rail and assemblies that provide cold-junction compensation, attenuate and protect your system from high voltages, as well as 19" racks and power supplies should be readily available.
